Another report about hypnosis for weight loss in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology looked at the results of 18 other studiesĀ  that used cognitive-behavioral treatments with and without hypnosis. The review of the data showed that the average number of pounds lost by the hypnosis group was greater than 70% of the non-hypnosis group. Further follow up showed, especially in the obese subjects, that the hypnosis group continued to lose weight after the treatment ended unlike the non-hypnosis group.

Yet another analysis of several hypnosis for weight loss studies was reported in the Journal of Consulting and Clinical Psychology. Here the mean weight loss for the hypnosis group was 11.83 pounds while the non-hypnosis group lost only 6.00 pounds. A long term follow up weigh in showed the hypnosis group continued losing significant weight with a total weight loss of 14.88 pounds while the non-hypnosis group showed practically no change with a total of 6.03 pounds.
